Golden Pancake City by ALINA CVETKOVA

The guiris*, the negroes,
A woman with a torn lusty mouth
Walks past, busy daydreaming.
The half-faded sun sets soft shadows
on the brown burnt-out facades.
I have so many memories, wherever I cast my eye.
They layer one on another like a pancake tower,
Dripping with golden sweet moments of perception,
Also bright and pretty and new,
And smelling oily of the summer skin.

*guiri is a colloquial Spanish slur used in Spain applied to foreign tourists, particularly from countries in northern Europe or the Anglosphere. (source Wikipedia)
